About me

I am a clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based therapy for kids and adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety disorders, misophonia, and other emotional and behavioral problems. At each step of my career, I have been fortunate to work and train in world-class OCD and anxiety specialty centers, where I learned to provide scientifically supported and compassionate therapy for people struggling with these problems. I completed my doctoral and postdoctoral training at the University of Florida OCD Program, Roger Behavioral Health, the Texas Children’s Hospital OCD and Anxiety Disorders Program, as well as the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) OCD Program. I was also on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania here in Philadelphia, where I continue to collaborate on research investigating these topic areas.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and my perfect dog Toast. I also enjoy playing tennis, running, and finding new TV shows to watch.

Professional and research collaborations

In addition to my private practice, I conduct research at the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania and with the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) OCD Program, which focuses on cognitive behavioral therapy, parent-led therapy, OCD, anxiety, autism and misophonia.  My interest in research supports my clinical work, and on the flip side, I let my clinical experiences guide my research questions. I try to make use of my knowledge of the latest science on the treatment of individuals with OCD, anxiety, misophonia, and other related disorders to make therapy as effective as possible. My research has been funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, the Misophonia Research Fund, and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. A summary of my scientific publications can be found on my Google Scholar page. In addition to my clinical work and research, I train therapists in exposure and response prevention, the gold standard treatment for kids and adults with OCD, as a faculty member of the International OCD Foundation's Behavior Therapy Training Institute.
